Another cut of meat, another reason to blog
I owe this fabulous effort to the fine folks in the Win-C0 meat department. This is 8 pounds and just $6 worth of pork. I actually smoked this piece overnight, in pouring rain. Good thing the Egg was up to the challenge. The smoker was lit on Saturday night after popcorn, before bed, and just before a tired Mr. Van Berkom arrived home from the UW v. LSU FB game. I used the basic BBQ rub, but decided to try a mix of apple and mesquite chips--I was inspired by an episode of Throw Down with Bobby Flay where he challenged a BBQ pit master to a pulled pork throw down. Convenient timing to watch such a match up! Perhaps some day Bobby will come challenge me to an Egg cook off.
